"Essentially it's really nothing special but selling for only a couple more $$ then a normal P3Fan..."

Does it work?

Essentially it's really nothing special but selling for only a couple more $$ then a normal P3Fan, you might find yourself better off with it for the added coolness (no pun intended). Sadly the cooler lacks a thermal monitor so if your motherboard can't detect the heat then this won't be much good to you anyway. Overclockers like to be able to see how hot their CPU gets in real-time.

It does indeed work and did shave some degrees off my CPU (hard to measure as heat changes depending on applications run) but isn't anything special. Maybe an extra fan and thermal sensor might have helped.

The Verdict

If you have a P3 or are planning on buying one and need a good cooler then The Thin Fin PIII Cooler could be just what the doctor ordered. A couple of extra $$ will get you a few less degrees and a slightly lighter cooler than the standard.
