Overclocking

Just as we said before, manufacturing the GeForce2 using the .18-micron process allows the core clock speed to go much higher than the GeForce before it. Not to mention the inclusion of the 6ns DDR SGRAM which combine to churn out some of the highest overclock ability rates I have seen in a video card. For the record, we were able to get our particular Leadtek GeForce2 GTS 32MB running perfectly stable all the way up to 221/383MHz (core/memory). We would have thought that the core would have been able to go at least a little higher due to the huge heatsink placed on this card.

Verdict

The GeForce2 is one FAST card, and Leadtek manages to throw in a few extras to make it even better such as the software DVD player, and big heatsink on top of the GeForce2 chip allowing much higher core/memory speeds. Sadly, the problems with OpenGL S3 texture compression, and hardware motion compression in PowerDVD (not to mention the high price of $350) stop me from giving the Leadtek GeForce2 a perfect score.
